The Marriage Register
The marriage Register dates from 1815. The first marriage to be recorded is that of a marriage solemnised in Jaffna between Peter Toussaint and Anna Elza Gartian on 5th May, 1815.

The first Marriage at the All Saints Church, Galle Fort, was that of James Weir and Janes Strene King on March 25th 1971.

 
The first marriage of a Sinhala couple to be held at All Saints Church, Galle Fort, was that of William N. Alwis and Dorothea Dias on February 1st 1872

"London Daily Graphic" newspaper dated March 2nd, 1899 reports the grandest wedding
which took place at the All Saints Church, Galle Fort, which was described as the wedding of the year. [1899]. The well known Moratuwa philanthropist Sir C.H. de Soysa's son Arthur de Soysa married Reina Perera from Galle - Closenberg fame - Perera Abeywardene family. "They drove from the Church in coach with six - in hand like the Queen. The men wore Topplers and Tails. The wedding cake reached from the floor to the ceiling. Ice - cream was served for the first time at a Galle wedding. It came from a ship in the Habour".
